The Dead Zone of the 4th reactor

I'm going to write a small guide book about the Zone of Chernobyl. I have never been in the zone yet, but I will visit it.
Firstly, the easiest way to enter to book a tour of a local travel agency. The tour costs about 130-160 USD. You will get a permission to enter the zone, transfer, (safe) lunch, english tour guide, etc...
You can stay in the zone max. 4-5 hours. If you follow your tour guide, you won't be in trouble or get dangerous amounts of radiation.

Some words about the sights and spectacles. There are 2 borders: outer and inner; here are the papers checked. Firstly, you see the unfinished cooling towers of the reactor 5-6. Then you behold the ChNPP4, the 4th reactor with the grey, huge Sarchophagus (a steel roof above the debris to keep inside the radioactive mass). You cannot approach the reactor, you can just stay 100 metres far from it. Then you can go to Pripyat.

-Pripyat. It was a very new town, built for the workers of the powerplant. It was found in 1970.
It has got so many sights. For example, the main square, the Hotel Polissia, cultural buildings, Azure swimming pool and the sports centre, police station, school, kindergarten, creche, library, Café Pripyat, theme park and the ferris wheel, and the 15-storey building (the highest in the town) There is a very nice lookout on it's roof.
The WHOLE town is abandoned, nobody lives in there nowadays, just the guards patrolling due to the graffiti painters and the looters, who steal radioactive stuff to sell it in the blackmarket.
Before 1986 the town had 47.500 citizens. In 2010 it has got 0.
-The other sight is the Chernobyl-2, it was a military radar station to detect the american rockets (cold war)
-There is a sight what have been closed down in 2008, due to the looters. Nobody should approach it. This is the weirdest junkyard next to the village Rossokha. A lot of cars, trucks, armored vehicles, helicopters of the liquidators are stored here. Because they are highly radioactive.
-Near the town of Chernobyl you can find a lake filled with ships of the liquidators, they are very radioactive too.
-Yanov train station. It was the local train station. Nowadays the trains, engines, and cars are parked here. It is very dangerous to enter them, they are too rusty and contaminated.
-The Red Forest was a huge pine forest, but it was glowing red after the explosion,and the authorities cut down. It is the most contaminated part of the outskirts nowadays too.

I am quite pissed off. Why do I bother to be nice to people when all they do is treat you like rubbish ? The worst part is when the ones that treat you so are the one you take extra care to be extra nice to. Statements such as " This one opens mouth, sure bad things only come out " are becoming common. Maybe they claim that the words they say was only meant as a joke but I notice that no one else becomes the butt of these 'jokes' and its always me. They don't dare say these kind of things to others but only to me. Probably proof that the adage "Familiarity breeds contempt" is true. I should probably not be nice anymore and just be my usual self and give back sarcastically as I usually do .. I normally don't because these are my colleagues. Probably my fault for treating colleagues as 'friends'. That'll teach me.

Well, that's my working environment. How is yours ?

So I finally got around to getting a computer. bought a laptop since it seemed to be easier than having to share the TV for computing and watching TV.

Windows vista isn't as bad as I thought i would be, probably because i'm entering the game so late that they've already patched everything causing problems.

I still don't like internet explorer since that crashes a lot, but I've been using both google chrome and firefox and can't decide which is better. Anyone got a take on this?

Hi guys!!! I just wanted to make a short post about my escapades in America so far.

I've been missing home in spite of my best efforts. Well not really home but people and activities. It's been a week and I've had gigantic steaks and acquired a 2nd hand Sony Vaio. It's a bit dumpy by our computer standards and I'm try to install World of Warcraft and Warcraft 3 as I'm typing this.

If all goes well I'll be testing garena with Warlock and if it's doable I'll try to join in dota on occasion. Muah ha ha now no one can shout at me, and if I screw up I'll blame lag ^_^
I won't be working anytime in the next 2 months or so, it's pretty much sit at home aside from some studying for drivers test and pre-law. Don't really want to go back to school but taking one step at a time.

I've been very tempted to fork out the cash to but a huge LCD (42-52 inches) but for the moment I'm holding back. Still need to get my 360 power supply, I ordered one on Amazon.com and should get it by the end of the week. After that it's either desktop computer or PS3. At least with the PS3 I can game online with Arvin.

I'll put up more photos once I actually take them. Most will be on facebook, so if you're not on facebook I suggest you sign up, everyone is on it and it is not crappy like friendster.

It's starting to move into spring here and we're going to do some grocery shopping today so I can't go see Watchmen, I really want to watch it but I guess that's for tomorrow evening. I keep hearing how it's damn good.

hi all,
I'm going to tell some words about my experiences about the Left4Dead, the newest multi game of the Valve corps.
There are 4 maps, with 5-5 parts. The No mercy: we are in the downtown of the infected city on a roof of an apartment, a news helicopter is flying above us, and the pilot is repeating this: " To anyone, who hear this, proceed to the Mercy Hospital for evacuation!". Well, we have to go through the city, we choose the 'easier' way, the subway. When we go down the stairs, we see a horrible scenery: mertocar wrecks and dead, decaying bodies everywhere: train derailment. We reach the power generator hall of the metro, there are 3 big turbines, and a mounted Minigun, when we switch on the turbines, the zombies wake up and start the rush. Tons and tons of grey colored zombies crowding from everywhere. The gate is opened, we ruh like hell, head for the open gate. Through an office we reach the street. A long and tiring walk, and the Mercy hospital is there, finally. But the hospital is overran by the sick residents. We reach the rooftop of the hospital, chip in the military radio, block ourselves, and wait for the evacuator helicopter.
"We made it, I don't believe it!", "Nice!" we say these in the copter, through the military camp.

......I'll continue with the Death toll campaign in the outskirts of the city.

Yo yo. couldnt resist blogging. Not as sleepy/tired as i expected to be so im watching the Golden Globe repeats..

First day was fine just that i was a tad lost at first...but it got better after lunch. heh.

after work i went to KLCC to wait for dad and since it had been a long day i needed my chocolate fix.
BUT I COULDNT FIND A DAMN PLACE IN KLCC WHICH HAD CHOCOLATE FONDUE..

Magnus tried to be my map for a bit but the shop you were refering to had no fondue Magnus. Thanks anyway.
so after 45 minutes of choc hunting i gave up and went home.

I had the strangest bout of concentration yesterday.
I went to sungai wang to do some shopping and on my way back i was shit lazy to take the train so i thought i could go to klcc to wait for dad and he can fetch me home after work. (i was on the monorail and actually thought the monorail was the LRT for a while). Then i thought of what i can do to pass my time while waiting for dad. Then i had this genius idea that Warlock works at klcc. So i almost called. Then i was like WAITTT.. Lali is the cousin that works at KLCC. then i smsed and realised she stopped work months ago. Then i finally realised OH MAGNUS IS THE ONE AT KL... mhm. By the time i came to my senses my phone battery died on me so i only came home and saw all the replies to my ridiculous smses.
But still. At least the train wasnt as bad as i thought.

I have 200 hours of pharmacy work experience to complete by the end of 2009. Thought of saving it all to get it done in adelaide but instead i thought i should do half here in a good hospital and spend my holidays in adelaide doing a bit of travelling. So now my luck is hanging between the two hospitals i applied for but they might cry after reading my resume. Maybe i should just leave this to do in adelaide. Oh em gee.

it's has been a while since i show up here. but first thing first, merry christmas all!

i lil update about myself, i m pretty much a zombie now with movies and games. too many things to do, to little time in hand. and anime are collecting dust in my room, that i have yet to watch. prove about me becoming a zombie? i m quite reticent now, i hate going out, i just wan to come back and hide in my room. prolly it's just momentarily, i hope. working life is bz. been lecturing for months and preparation is a bit taxing in the beginning. finally, i will be moving back to research field starting early next year.

I have, after a painfully long time, received my visa to migrate to the USA.

Will be leaving sometime in February '09 with the exact date to be nailed down once I actually have my ticket. Should be resigning once the new year rolls in but might be staying on till 26th Jan to get paid for that month before bailing.

hi again,
after the report of AoC, I wanna present a full game, Left 4 dead(http://www.l4d.com/home.php). It is a Co-multiplayer FPS in an infected metropolis. Unfortunatelly this game costs 50$. There are 4 survivors,
Louis: "Louis had been working up the courage to quit his job as Junior Systems Analyst at his company's IT department when a virus showed up and downsized the world. Now Louis has a new set of goals (live long enough to succeed) and a new set of tools (guns, sharp objects) to help him achieve them. With any luck, he'll figure out how the new management operates before they get a chance to murder him."
Francis:"Cocky, loud, and pretty sure he's indestructible, Francis acts like the zombie apocalypse is the world's biggest bar fight. When the virus hit, everybody else stockpiled food and looked for a place to hide. Francis found a gun and had some fun. No cops, no laws, no order—if it wasn't for all the zombies, he could almost get used to life like this."
Zoey:"After spending her first semester holed up in a dorm room watching old horror movies, Zoey was given a choice: Stop fooling around and get her grades up, or drop out. In the start of the game we should choose a weapon: shotgun or MAC10/Uzi, and a healthpack.
Later we get more effective weapons: M16 assault rifle, Francis SPAS12 combat shotgun and sniper rifle, and we've got a pistol, later we can pick up a secondary pistol---> dual pistol 8)

the enemies are infected citizens, there are a lot of zombie modell, in one area you cannot find two concordant modells, you can find policeman-, soldier-, officer-, littlegirl-, blonde fashion-conscious-, man in grey pullover and jeans-, grey dead body wearing bloody and dirty clothes-, old(wo)man- zombies. Naturally you can find specially mutated creatures: Witch, Boomer, Smoker, Hunter and Tank, more at the game/infected menu in the website.

I tried it's demo out, and I loved it! Enjoyable survival-horror at night, in an abadoned city with several mad zombies (first campaign in Demo, others are locked)
If you (and your friends) dont wanna play WC3-DOTA,or the servers are crahed, the weather is bad, lightning and raining; play L4D! I can recommend to you to a dark and thunderous night, hehe.

I want to report a new HL2 mod and a full game.
Let's start with the Age of Chivalry (http://www.age-of-chivalry.com/) an FPS co-multiplayer in the medeival age, there are two teams, red and blue, The Mason order and the Agatha Knights, in the beginning of a match we have to choose a class, e.g.: archer, footman and knight. Then choose a weapon: sword-shield, longbow, mace, crossbow, two-handed sword,warhammer, pike, ... after that, the match is starting, there are several official maps with different missions: save peasants/guard the hostage peasants, save the prince/guard the prison of the prince, besiege a fortress or castle/ defend the fortress; and there are many sub-missions: open the gate/defend the gate, push the infected cart into the canal/defend the canal. And there are some planted structures in the map: catapult, ballista, hot pitch bucket or ammonution crate.

Been a long time since i made a proper entry here. (or a rant at least)

You know how people say uni is the best time of your life and that you should make the best of it.
Well ive been trying.
but the recent weeks have been a bit difficult.

What do you do when a bunch of people go out of their way to make your life miserable but never bother telling you why?
especially when youre so lost with what you could have possibly done.

What do you do when you approach one of them to ask wtf is wrong. she tells you. and you still dont think its your fault but you apologise anyhow. and she just ignores you and goes off.
Makes me feel like an idiot for having apologised because i feel like now they have the last laugh.

Everybody makes mistakes. if i can forgive yours and look past why must you hold grudges.
i just dont get it.
People tell me im too nice and gullible. maybe its time i take that seriously and do something about it.

Ok i raelly want to rant more but none of this will make any sense when i read it tomorrow so i'll shut up here.

So its been a terribly emotional week for me. Been in Singapore for most of it playing with my PSP in between gorging on food and attending training programs.

So I finished playing Final Fantasy Crisis Core, and just feel completely bummed out that everyone died, despite knowing that they were going to die. The ending was just too much. Damn you Square Enix for tugging at my tender heart-strings just for once can I have a bloody happy ending already T_T

......I want wings like that.......

And on top of that I come back only to watch Sarutobi Asuma get killed god dammit, a very tender and emotional 2 episodes and I am so not happy, just when I started to really like him they killed him off, damn you Akatsuki.

To get over the pain I am doing my best to try and pick a fight with Archimonde in World of Warcraft before the expansion pack is released next month.

I can't think of anything else right now and I got a meeting to go to so I'll try to add more to knock Kavi's perverted pics off the page so we can look at the blog in the office again :)

NEUTRAL CREEPS

They dont respawn under these conditions:
-there is a hero or creep in the line of sight/area
-there is a ward
-dead body of any kind

It takes 14 seconds for one body to dissappear meaning if u farm at a neutral camp u must try i kill all by the 44/45th second so that the body has vanished in time for the new creep to form. If u cant kill the creep by that time, then u pull the creep out and kill it away from the line of sight or area(requires timing) so that its corps does not hinder the formation of the new creeps.Heroes with stun or AXE have easier time coz they just pull the creep out then stun or call them to make them stay away from the creep camp. If u know very well that you cant kill tat specific creep camp in time(b4 44/45 second) then u pull them out to allow the new creep camp to form. The idea of jungling is to keep the neutral creep flow constant. The bigger creep camp(the one with lvl six creeps/not ancients) is the best to base your timing on. Normally u can get around 150-250 gold from the big creep camp. Now say u makesure every minute they spawn and u clear them. In ten minutes u get 1500-2500 gold.There is always to smaller creep camps near the big camp(both sentinal n scourge). Say after killing of the big camp(normally can be done in less then 50 seconds) u go n clear one of the small camps(dont mind the time coz u will be taking turns between the small camps;can be done in 10-15 seconds). U will be getting around 90-150 gold. Now in 10 minutes tats 900-1500 gold. So if all goes well and timed well you get a total of 2400-4000 gold in ten minutes without leaving the jungle. Now if u add the ancients which u are going to farm in midgame in place of the big creep camp...u get around 270-330 gold. Ten minutes of that n u have 3500-5800 gold adding the small creep camp. Tats enuf to get a Radiance/power thread combo in 20 minutes.It just depends when u choose ur 20 minutes coz not all heroes can straight start jungling at the 2nd minute. Plus mminus the time spent defending is 25-30 minutes.

ps:i understated the timing to kill the creeps...at times u can kill of all(3)of the creep farms in jungle within the 50 seconds time..tat means more money in the 20 minutes

Ok here is the plan :

We will play for 10 hours on Sat then 10 hours on Sun. Be prepared !! Be VERY prepared !!!

Now .. for timing, in order to max out our time I suggest we play on Sat morning , go back to sleep and then we meet up at 2 am on Sun. From there we play another round of DotA until 12 pm on Sunday. Sounds a little crazy for you ? I know ... but hey if we dont do anything CRAZY it's not really DotA madness now isnt it .. after all 1o hours is no biggie for us nowadays and 15 hours is sure to kill us.

Another alternative is to play DotA on Friday 2am till Sat 12pm then we can do the same on Sunday so that our parents wont complain that we are missing out of home for whole big chunks of the day.

Alternative 3 is to play 10 hrs on Sat : 9am - 7pm then followed by evening Sunday game of either 5,7 or 10 hours depending on player spirit.

Now who can come on what day and any set time ? Let me know fast so we can all plan the schedule. Also let me know how many hours you can play and how many sessions. If possible at least come for 1 full Madness (10 hours) session.

malaysian carnival

im still up. heck its a friday night but its too cold to have much fun at all.
There's a Malaysian Carnival this sunday and being the only indian in the whole bloody university (ok slight exaggaration) .. i was asked to model a saree..
problem is i dont know how to tie one.. BUT I HAVE HIDDEN TALENTS YOOHOOO..

Watch the dota replay last week, seems like you guys have a lot of fun. Good, good. But Arc still a bit off sometimes, walk pass enemy just like that, Haha! The league mode game is quite balance so I suggest play league mode more often next time. All pick sometimes can lead All Disaster.

Install and finish Devil May Cry 4 for the first time. Is like what Arc and Magnus said, this one is better than the last one. At least I don't need to hurt my finger by smashing the button. The devil hand is like some in game cheat just like Arc say. It is too powerful. Use it and you are invincible. After finished I unlock the Legendary Dark Knight Mode but I heard there is a Turbo Mode as well. Not sure I wanna try it, might hurt the finger.

School rumble 3^rd – School Rumble OAD , OAD stand for Original Anime DVD. Is the anime release at the same time when a volume of manga is released. Just 2 episodes though.

Blade of the immortal – a lot of samurai and katana fight. It is about a immortal samurai take out a quest to kill 1000 bad guys to end his immortal torment.

Koihime musou- think of it as a Musou anime as in take in the character from dynasty warrior and make it into anime. However they are all female now so it would be something like Mai Hime.

Strike Witches – Again, an anime with a lot of girls saving the world. It resembles a lot like Sky Girls but with a few different here and there. I prefer Sky Girls because the design for the mecha is actually good. This one is just weird.

Lane Assignments

Middle Lane

In most games, middle should be the solo lane. This is because it allows for the solo to have easy access to the runes, stay relatively safe using the hill, and to be able to gank the other lanes when needed. It's also harder to get a combo to work in middle, because you have less room to chase before you get to the opposing tower. Try to put your most aggressive solo hero in middle, preferably one that can use Bottle.

---

Short Lane (Sentinel Top // Scourge Bottom)

The short lane is the scary one, the lane that you'd rather not have. The creep wave generally spends its time closer to the opposing tower, meaning that it's very easy for your opponents to come in from behind and gank you and if you get into trouble it's a long way to the safety of your tower. Therefore you should usually send your strongest lane combo (hopefully two stunners) to the short lane. Weaker pairs of heroes in the short lane tend to fed repeated ganks. Do not ever send a hero other than QoP, PotM, or Clinkz to solo the short lane, they'll die over and over.

Long Lane (Sentinel Bottom // Scourge Top)

The long lane is very nice, the creeps are near your tower, it's hard to gank, you have plenty of room to combo, and you can creep pull to bring the creeps back towards you if they push too far. Pretty much anything works in the long lane. It can be used to protect heroes that are very weak early, like SA. Or a hero that just wants to ricefarm for the entire earlygame and can't make good use of the ganking opportunities that middle offers with the runes. It's also perfectly good for combos, there's plenty of room to chase down your opponents in the long lane. It's sort of the "one size fits all" lane, it's often practical to figure out what the middle and the short lane need, then put whoever is left in the long lane.

Jungle

Jungling is a bit misunderstood. Some heroes like Lycan or Ursa should almost always jungle because they will farm far more quickly and safetly in it. However, many other heroes can jungle, but that doesn't mean that they should every game. Many players get trapped in the mindset of, "I know how to jungle this hero, so I'm going to!" and they don't think about what it does to their team's lanes. For example, a Centaur chooses to jungle, leaving his allied CM to solo against Viper and Ogre -- that's unwinnable for CM, she'll get flattened. If Centaur lanes with her instead, they have a very damaging combo and can probably beat the Viper and Ogre. The Centaur choosing to lane instead of jungle makes the difference between CM feeding and CM dominating the lane.

I'm not trying to discouraging jungling, but it's very important to look at your team's lanes as a whole when considering if some heroes should jungle or not.

Roaming

Roaming is a rather unique option that's only available to a few heroes (read: VS, Veno, Jugg, and Sven). There are two reasons that you might want to send one of those heroes on permanent ganking from level one: either you have to heroes that both need to solo or your team's lategame is good enough that gaining an early advantage for them will go a long ways towards victory.

Good Pairings

Okay, so we've covered what sort of heroes go in what lanes, but now how do we know what sort of heroes go together well? A few pointers (these may seem obvious, but the point here is fundamentals, I want to make sure that everyone learns this stuff. If you already know it, move on!):

-Put a ranged hero in every lane, this should be your number one goal. Double melee lanes suck.

-Stunners go well together (duh). If your team can have a pair of stunners absolutely flatten an opposing lane, that can win the game on its own.

-Put setup stunners with followup stunners. You'll get 10x the use out of your team's Lina if you put her with a hero like Sandking or Sven that can open with their own stun, to make sure that LSA will hit.

-Put heroes with bad earlygames with heroes that can spam spells to protect them. Preferably ranged heroes as well, so that they can harass while the lategamer farms. These babysitter heroes can either be healers like Warlock or Necrolyte, or they can just be heroes with dangerous spells to spam like THD.

Company regulations prevents you from putting Mp3 onto your computer ? I used to burn songs and bring them to work on DVD but then there is the predictability of the songs that will come up right. This site is quite good , they have portable softwares so you can make your thumbdrive into a portable application storage. This means you run the software from your thumbdrive and leave no trace on the computer. You can have a calender which you can bring around and the data will be the same when you plug in the thumbdrive into another computer. Fun :) . They also have open office and graphic editing software so you don't need to worry that the computer that you are forced to use has NO apps installed , you can still do your work. Give it a try, thumbdrives are really dirt cheap nowadays.

For the PSP , games shouldn't lag.
If you are using CSO format then it's possible the game was compressed and that causes your game to lag. Another possibility is that you might have been cheated, your memory card might be a fake one. One simple test is to look at 'property' when the mem card is selected. If the option MagicGate has "Unsupported" on it then you have a fake mem card. I am not sure about 3rd party mem card, the best card to use for the PSP is the original Sony mem card.

As for software ... there are some software that i use but only one is really useful ....

PDF reader - very useful but can't remember the details. Remind me and I'll bring the software for this weeks DotA session.

The software you will need is something to convert your movies into the format that can be recognized by the PSP .. just remind me and I'll bring you the software. Can't remember the name :p , the conversion process is a little time taking but due to the differences in encoding you dont have a choice. You cant just dump in avi and expect it to work unfortunately. The encoding time is approximately 40 % of the total length of the movie. ( 100 minute movie takes 40 minutes to convert).

As for games, let me know what you are looking for and i can seach in my collection .. i had a lot but cant remember most of them since i just d/l and played them once ...

i get all my games from www.pspisoz.com , if you are downloading games let me know so we can alternate and download different games .. So as most of you know I finally purchased a PSP last week after months of waffling over whether to buy one or not. I must say I'm quite satisfied with it, but haven't taken the time to do much with it aside from playing some games. Its a good thing to have especially since I'm retiring from DotA...until next Saturday when I make my Rocky-like comeback.

Anyway, I would appreciate some advice from Warlock (since I don't want to wait till the weekend to talk to him)

What good applications should I be looking for (not games, but like for other things, say pdf and such)

How does the movie player thing work, can i just copy over my avi files or do I have to reformat them (I know original firmware sucks for this but mines the latest custom one) or perhaps is there a good movie player. I don't really care about space so I just want to copy some movies over and maybe a few tv series episodes to watch on the train/bus.

Could you give me a list of games/programs you have and if there's any I want can you burn them for me (I will supply discs, but I think I have more than enough games for now).

I'm not using the funky casing or anything, just the wrist strap and a screen protector. so far so good. I got the logitech earbuds too. anything I should really consider buying?

Can't think of anything else right now, so maybe I'll update later.

It is July now and also new season for anime and TV series in Japan. So far I see 2 anime that is interesting.

Slayer Revolution – Yes Lina Inverse is back. This should be the fourth season for her.
Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto – Natsu no Sora – I don't how many of watch the first season before. This anime also known as Someday's Dreamer. One of my favorite anime. This is another season for it, Someday's Dreamers – Summer Skies. I have the first episode. The background drawing is fantastic. Good to have you back.

Hope there will have Dota for me anytime soon.

Woohoo! I'm finally in. Forgot my account password. Been a long time since i last posted. Thought blog died already. Thats my new excuse. Previous one was no internet connection. Heh heh!
Anyway, felt kinda left out not knowing all the DOTA social updates. Always though DOTA all about action. Now got drama and stuff. Cool! I like. Must make it a point to mention everyone in this... my mega comeback ultra post. Heh!

Fisrtly , i have to agree, Gopi is being emo. Which is cool. Cause now we have this huge very interesting multi emo posts on our blog. Heh heh. Thanks man.
I remember arvin+john= GG. Makes the victory all more GLOOOOORIOUS!! Muahahaha!!! When the teamwork starts rollin... heads just keep fallin. Seriouly dont know how that happen. Must've been in da zone or somethin. But it was cool. I dont really mind the dissin. Its still all fun for me. Like magnus sez... warlock very critical on how i play baratum. But thats just cause he very gay about baratum. Heh. No hard feelings. Think warlock great leader. Even when lead team to imminent death. Still finds a way to make it feel fun to die. Ha ha. Almost as psycho as magnus. Both very suicidal. Kinda predictable and easy to coordinate with. Me getting infected with blood rage. Not good when kardel stand toe to toe wif fuzzy and try to kill him wif handle of rifle. Must learn to keep cool from sai. Just get maelstrom. Ha ha ha. I'm still working on baratum though. Not quite there yet. Still get too much adrenaline rush COD all over the map. ;P
As for NOS, I must tell you all a secret. He's not human. He's actually a time traveling alien esper. Nuff said.
On a more serious note, NOS owned cause he got good teammates. Us.... ahem!. Actually made it a point to hunt him. But couldn't succeed cause of his teammates. Damn it feels good to pawn him even when its kinda gay since it took 5 people to do it. Heh. Bottom line, if someone buys divine rapier. Its GG. Not cause of rapiers effects, but what it represents.
Warlock is old. Ha ha! Never though of it that way. Wait, doesn't that mean that i'm... 'dougtht'!!!
Cant really comment on arul. Keep changing nick. Cant keep track. Remember he got kicked out once cause though he was some other cybercafe dude. Ha ha.
James is anything but calm. Many spirits of dead mice can confess to that. I was there. It was horrible. The inhumanity. The cruelty. Horror of horrors. To this very day, the mark remains. On that little patch of wood... it lays forever barren... no mouse pad dares take its place. Ripped to shreds... thi's the fate of all mouse pads that fails james' strict performance test. Heh heh. James play style varies a lot. i still cant figure it out. Except when he playing drow. Then got predictable mindset. ;P
To shaun, I understand bout the change of plan thing. Poor warlock. By the way, kudos to warlock for all the event organizing. Keep up the good work. Ahem. ;p I for one really appreciate it and would never want to change management. Heh. Ahem. Back to shaun, you've got a unique play style dude. Always fun to have you around. Never would've thought of the jumping in and stealing the aegis plan. Ha ha. A little more coordination and we might have pulled it off. That would've been a memorable achievement. :-)
As for me, still feel a bit handicap when AR. Lack of experience. Will catch up and join in on the trash talkin soon. Heh heh. Its all fun. All part of the DOTA experience. I have most fun when teamwork is flowing. Multi ganking. Big kickass group battles. And everyone sacrificing themselves to take out the tower. Adicted to the adrenaline rush.
As for tactics, all is valid. Just needs coordination. Who farms, who push, defend, when and where...how. Then it should be fine. Easier said then done though. Good luck warlock. ;p Bad teamwork! Not sure how kugan and shauns invisible tactics work though. I'm all ears. Happy to coordinate wif the tactics. For those instances where saving up for item and dont want to die, please inform team so that can change tactics to accomodate. If survival instinct kicks in during team battles and one runs... team is usually screwed. Personal experience.
Kugan, heard about your must return to base survival instinct tranz thing. I know how it feels. Not a hundred percent but close. Sometimes i just go blank and all i see are colourful pixels. Dont even know where i am. Panic attack. Atleast thats what i thought. Now i know its actually bullet time. Its a gift. Very few people can do it. The fraternaty, max payne, neo...etc. (Rambling)
As far as doing stupid suicidal gila kill charges, we all do it. Some more than others. Heh. Me included. I really appreciate it when a teammate helps slaps me out of it. Gopi and warlock comes to mind. Thanks dudes. ;P

firstly, i apologize that this tread have to chip in between the other posts (the Dota one) cause if i dun post now, i dun know when i can make the post again. I am now working elsewhere out of my hometown and i dun have any internet access, except for the one in the office, wont be as convinient as before. what i wan to share with everyone is that (to those who r interested and not) are.......

so far, or at least to me, i think xbox360 is kinda promising if anyone here wanna get a console. i know ps3 is still hot on our list, my list too......but i have to admit that by the end of this year or next year, 360 will release an arsenal of promising titles. and some are exclusive to 360 only. I for one like traditional jrpg or perhaps mordernized one, and 360 will have more of them soon.

1. Tales of Vesparia (Namco Bandai) - 360 only
2. Last Remnant (Square Enix) - 360 and ps3
3. Infinite Undiscovery (Square Enix) - 360 only
4. Star ocean 4 :the Last Hope (Square Enix) - 360 only

These r the rpgs that i can not even miss. and most of them r coming to 360 only. but of course, ps3 have final fantasy 13 and might have kingdom hearts. but after ff7, the rest of the ff series r just acquired taste. and since the father of FF has now hail Mistwalker as home, i bet more jrps will come to 360. furthermore, FF13 may look nice now as shown in the trailer, but we r still not too sure of the real game mechanics. i really hope it's not disappointing. some other game that we should look forward to are...

1. Gear of Wars 2 - 360 only
2. Biohazard 5 - both
3. Alone in the Dark 4 (?)- both

on 360 games will mostly be ported to pc, well, i heard from a lot of people, not just from our bloggers mate here, i do not agree entirely. yes, games like fps or 3ps like Halo may be ported to pc, but i doubt games like rpgs will........mayb some, but not most. and to play these games on pc, we need a very very good pc in the first place. it's not to say that i try to stray anyone from getting ps3, i will get one eventually, when there is some games that i m actually interested to play like FF, but since some of the games are released in both consoles, i will just try to get the ciplak one and play on my 360. as for ps3 exclusives games, i will get the ori, that seems the only way. i wouldnt play these kind of games with my pc. my pc for mmorpgs only, hehhee.

well, just my 2 cents worth of opinions. but the games that i sought r mostly in 360 by far, so, i guess i now lean more to 360m, hahahaha, though the console is flawed. and it seems that if the games are being released in both consoles, the 360 one would perform smoother, well, accoridng to my fren who tried this. as now, i m open, just folo the path of the games i adore.

Its just this Dinesh, varying gamestyles exist. You can win with any style given the situation as you said. But dont go saying behind us in a way that we can hear stuff like"those fellas like thatlar.Just farm farm. Dont bother bout themlar and dont waste your time helping coz u know wat will happen if you help(1 example)". This your saying to navin. Many of them there say nothing in reply(kugan, arul)coz your elder and out of respect. Even ben and me. Dont play all the sarcasm games in the cc thats wat i mean.some of it are offensive and warrant replies but they dont want to coz it might coz probs.Trash talking someone after you kill them is part of the fun in da game(as navin would agree..hehehe(shaun wouldt though...hahahahaha)), but the above statement isnt. And about choosing characters that they dont know how to use, i totally aggree with you its boring if we stick to the same character BUT this "not helping when needed" stems from the innability to use the character in da first place most often then not. They die and die and die and die till they just are afraid to even go near creeps. Case: arul with naix, arvin with luna, me with balanar, navin with broodmother(wat you felt tat day was how others felt when they just keep dying like crazy after taking new characters), shaun with all characters excluding Bone. So this goes out to all newbie character users, Try and get a brief understanding of the character from your pals who r good then apply in game and at critical moments ask them wat shud be done. And those pro users pls help out by giving them some good pointers on how to play the characters( DINESH is quite good at this,seriously-he is my wiki on heroes).To JON, u might not be tat good a user of barathum but hats of for ur courage during battles and you were trying ur best.
.....im in for both DOTA SESSIONS and will be there unless someone has assasinated me due to these posts......TQ for clearing your part din and shaun coz now i feel relieved that we have talked about it.

Ok I forgot to mention a few things which might have contributed to this big misunderstanding ..

1) Yes Shaun did ditch us once, but since he decided to sit out last week to make it even then it's considered settled allready. Stop picking on him la ...

2) We decided on a system to make DotA sessions easier to plan for :

If someone says they are coming but then cancells last minute then we give the person "1 demerit point", this means the next time we have odd numbers we call in the demerit point and ask the person to sit out. If we have odd numbers and nobody has a demerit point we just play odd numers la .. I would prefer even numbers but I rather play with odd numbers than not play.
We have allready agreed to stick to this from now on in our last Annual DotA meeting. This is better than what i normally do, everytime it's odd I ask Sai, Magnus or Siriuz to sit out. That isn't fair to them since they normally always keep to the schedule. So in short, this system encourages people to stick to the schedule and not make things tough for the others and only penalizes those who cancells last minute.

3) I personally think the last 3 sessions were pretty ok. I don't have any big complaints about "teamwork" or say that we "must win" .. even the day where I lost every single game wasn't a big deal since everyone in the team played well. (The only complaint we had was the one where we lost because of "lebeh kes" but that was just for fun). I have no idea why gopi is so serious about it cause I seriously had fun even when teamed up with John and Arvin (:P)

4) NoS is your worst DotA nightmare .. CC guy who joined us to make our numbers even ... he will come out from the forest when you are level 15 and use his level 20 character to pawn everyone. If you are wondering if i am exaggerating, i am not. He bought Divine Rapier and we all left.

Clearing Out the Muddy Waters™

First things first..... on the 1st weekend of june dinesh called me 4dota n i sed i wud come... but several hours later daniel called me 2hang out in forbidden city.... afta several minutes of consideration i decided to hang out wif dan n cancel dota since i havent been hanging out wif dan n frens for a long time..... i dunno how u guys manage 2find out dat i was in FC but i dun wanna noe.... n for dat i wud like 2apologise for dat mistake n trust me it wud not happen again...
on da 2nd weekend of june i was in singapore NOT where u think i was.... so no apologies there.... dun bliv? ask my parents....
last week i really wanna come n i ady made d arrangements but like i sed earlier i can oni come if u guys start at 10pm since i got a party b4 dat..... n i admit oso daniel called but i told him dy dat i'll b dotaing wif u guys.... but since u all wanna start at 8pm bcoz u dun wanna miss holland-russia (in which da dutch lost... all hail da soviet communists!!! may dey fall at d hands of da spanish armada), i hafta skip dat session bcoz if i come oso wud b odd numbers.... so i decided 2hang out wif dan instead which in dis case is NOT my fault.... plz get ur records straight b4 u rifle out da accusations.....

Wah .. long post. To do justice and to explain things i'll reply as a post instead of a comment.

Hey, it's not fair to use the NoS games as an example .. since it wasnt Navin and me who were constantly losing to him. EVERYONE who played against him lost .. he is just in a different level. As for blaming you for the defeat .. we were just joking la (or at least i was). It was definately "lebeh kes" to push the ctr all the way :p.

Yes it's true NoS didnt complain about people missing to farm .. since he was the one doing the megafarming run. In case you didnt notice .. he goes missing for the beginning part of the game and only appears at the end of the game 5 levels higher then all of us and then proceeds to wipe us out. Yes it's true that it's a valid strategy but i was pretty sure it wasn't that much fun for the defenders to play when 1 person runs off to do that (unless the team agrees) .. the problem will start when everyone wants to go farm and no one wants to push or defend. Cause if i have to choose between staying to defend the tower in a hopeless outnumbered battle or to go and farm and get all my cool items, what do you think I would prefer ?

Forget about farming. If NoS wasn't a mega farmer and got his +5 levels higher by last hitting ( or magical powers) it still comes to show that he is a superior player compared to everyone of us. So any team with him will win. Period. To use him as an argument to validate tactics is quite biased I would say. I mean if I brought a pro-gamer who shouts and ask everyone to stick together and we always win , does that mean my approach to DotA is correct ?

Might does not make right. DotA should be a team game and such should focus on teamplay and working together to pawn opponents. Thats just my views however.

I know that there are those who believe strongly that the point of DotA is to go and farm and farm and farm to get items then only go and pawn opponents. Yes this is a sure way to win if it works. But this will only work if 1 or 2 person is the only one doing it .. cause if all 5 wants to go and farm .. you'll run out of neutral creeps and run around the forest for nothing and you'll run out of towers fast (if you dont want to come to defend cause you only need 100 gp to buy butterfly). You will also become prime target for opponents who believe in sticking together (like what happened to me when i was dirge and all 5 was hunting for me in the forest). Still it's a valid strategy so I won't say don't do it. I only ask that the time we choose to use the "farm till you drop" approach , let ME go farm to get all my items while you guys defend. Then i can come and pawn everyone. If you guys like the tactics then we can adopt it :).

(Point i am trying to make is, the game is only fun for the farmer , not the ones that has to do the dirty job of defending when outnumbered)

As for asking John and Arvind NOT to take characters that they are interested in just because they are bad in is quite unfair. Why ? Remember when we all started playing DotA together and we played AP all the time .. that was the time for us to pick our favourite heroes and learn to play them and that is all that these 2 guys are doing. How else are you supposed to learn to play characters you like with human players if you dont get to choose them ? Imagine if you had started by playing with people who were more experienced than you , and they start dissing your skill in using a character because you caused the loss. Thats still ok, it'll motivate you to work on that character. Imagine instead then absolutely ban you from ever taking the character in AP ever again ... It's not that fun isnt it. So let's not get all holier-than-thou and just let them work on their characters. Relying on the 1/90 chance of getting the hero you want in AR is a bit far fetched since to get good at a character you need to try out different things till you find one that works. Remember that they both played much much less DotA then us so special consideration should be given when they choose characters. Of course, dissing them for mistakes should still be cool since that was how we learned :P.

As for Ben, he WAS a bit emo before meeting up for the game but he had said that he agrees with what Gopi said about mixing up players. So I think we can let the matter rest. But for the record, it's not cool to degrade people before playing. After playing can condemn them for mistakes but don't conveniently forget their successes. As Gopi was pointing out that Navin and I sometimes commit "actions such as DYING in opponents base due to pure stupidity(this is always followed up with a lame excuse)" but neglected to mention the amount of times that we have defied the odds to get the kills and return alive or the time when a "suicidal" move caused us to suddenly turn the tables and lead us to victory. Think back to the games where I use Barathum/Rexxar and Navin uses Lucifer/Razor (razorspeed !!) and see for yourself if you've been fair in passing judgement. I don't know about navin but I never made stupid excuses .. i only tell the truth .. "Gila kill" :)

The point here is that we all have different styles of play, who is to say if Gopi's farm till you drop approach is correct or wrong ? Or Shaun's and Kugans "i'm stealthed and its 3 vs 2 but I sure as hell aint gonna decloak and attack ... unless I can get sure kill" approach is correct or wrong ? Who can tell if Ben's conservative tactic of sticking to our side of the river and only going out for a counter push late-game is right or wrong ? Or if my suicidal strategy of jumping into a group of 3 people armed only with my owerwhelming machoness (koff koff) is right or wrong ?

But do you have a reason to complain if my suicidal moves gets us all killed ? Or if teamwork falls apart and everyone attack different targets ? Is it wrong to give the opinion that we lost because of "Bad Teamwork" ? I don't think its wrong to complain. Remember, it's ok to disagree and have different views. So, i blame my teammates when things turn out badly ? Who doesnt ? I can tell (and sometimes the whole cybercafe) with absolute certainty that even Gopi disses Arul and Kugan sometimes. Is that different that what Navin and I do ? I don't think so. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. Complaining doesn't mean we claim to know EVERYTHING about DotA .. I don't need to play with Pro-gamers like Gopi did in order to know that.

But the point is, if it's in game .. LEAVE IT IN GAME. No need to get pissed off with people and spoil your friendship with others. For all the time I complain about Kugan not teamplaying, or John for sucking with Barathum (sorry John) or Arvin for sucking with Rikimaru (sorry man .. couldn't resist. I'll rest safe in the assurance that you wont read this anyway) do you see me purposely dumping them for DotA session ? (Ok last week with Kugan and Shaun dont count. That was for maintaing even numbers, and Kugan confirmed like 40 minutes before the game)

As for James. He doesn't complain much ... but I can tell you guys that is't because he has given up on complaining :p Still I agree with Gopi that James is fun to play with since he just strategizes and if things doesnt work out or people dont follow .. well too bad. He also tends to take characters that he can use well but I don't think everyone should .. then dota will be boring and I will always take Rexxar and James Drow and Navin Lucifer and Sai Kardell and Kugan Bone Clinks.

Maybe we can approach DotA in James-Zen way. Repeat after me : there is no victory . Only pixels.

So everyone listen to what Gopi has to say , he makes a good point but I would say it would be better if we left things as are now but just change our mindset and learn to accept the criticism and other conflicting views. I know that I do complain from time to time but I never take things personally and after the days session is over then its over. I dont keep grudges and neither should you. Remember , I am macho and macho men don't keep grudges.

I have been wanting to say this for quite but awhile didnt want to as i thought this would coz problems but i think events of last week compel me to do so. I want us to be still playing this game and meeting up for many more sessions so pls listen.

CAN WE ALL STOP THIS CRAP(title)IN DOTA AND FREAKING HAVE FUN! I have something to say to quite a few of you. Number 1, no one and i mean no one is better than anyone in our team. Some can play a certain character blinfolded while if given a different character with free items also they would be banta fodder. If your team mate doesnt know how to play that certain character and u do then its your fault for not teaching him. Help him alonglar.Vice versa if you have no clue how to play a character then dont pick him(in AP), u are just going to ruin your team mates game and yours too once he starts screwing you(arvin and jon....pls learn up luna and barathum b4 you play coz its been 2 consecutive weeks that you guys screwed up wit those characters). This is the reason we have SD n random,to try new characters without being at fault for the choice you get(and some bozos go and repick).
To BEN, remember you said that jon and arvin arent that good, well wat happened in the first game last week? Arvin got triple kills and you got triple killed. Pride comes before a fall. I was razor and ur akasha got fried repeatedly by me but jons silencer farking pawned by ass so tat makes jon better than u doesnt it??Talking crap at ppls face is not the way to go. Dont play with ppls image by degrading them in front of ppl.
To DINESH AND NAVIN, you guys lost every game you played againts NoS, even the one we came close to winning i was ur scapegoat for the failure. How is it that Nos wasnt going around whinning "They dont help at all. They just go and farm only". He carried the whole team to victory in every single game. When i was in his team the only thing i ever got from him was a ping NOT "wat the hell u felas doing?",not "You know those fellas rite,they never help(thanks for being so quite when you say this amongst yourself)". wat makes you guys think that your move was the right move?? or wat you are doing is the rite thing?? i have been many in many situations where i was whooping ur asses(so this makes me better than you rite?or not?) but i have never complained about your actions such as DYING in opponents base due to pure stupidity(this is always followed up with a lame excuse) coz who am i to judge, i might do that one day as im not that good either.And i have played with national champs before and i can definitely say we(me included) shouldnt be acting like we know everything about DOTA.
To ARUL, if you think that enjoying means just farking around, not farming, hiding, running in and dying for no apparent reason and then you shouldnt be playing dota. come on man! wats up? dont behave like a loserlar.I have known you my whole life and you aint dumb so stop acting like one.
To JAMES, Dude besides the "occasional" delay in ur arrival to warzone i think the way you handle this game is cool man. The mouse problems you have are just a small thing. U never really complain, u just get along with the game, u pick characters that are playable by u most of the time and playing in your team is nice,though your not always on da winning side.
To SHAUN, i give up man. You say you wanna come then we find out your in FORBIDDEN CITY? 2 times alredy! and we are odd numbers? watsup lar? you have problem with any1 here izit? tats y we nowadays dont mind not calling you if odd,but i personally want you to come coz its cool to have you aroun man. But i have to feel for Dineshlar, he goes all out to call you and you screw him over?Yo know how much trouble it takes to get this dota sessions organised? if it were me i would come there straight to FC and hang you. To MYSELF, i will do and have been trying to do all those things i said above. I started doing those since the day i started picking random heroes.Lets just play dota, do some trash talking bout shaun or kugan or james and go back and have a goodnites sleep shall we.Sorry arvin for pushing u to hard that day when u were luna.
